Evaluation Systems

Classes I & II

We follow a comprehensive and balanced curriculum. Our focus is to develop the talents and skills in the children. We instill and inspire the values in them so that they learn to respect the Indian culture and develop a positive attitude towards life. The above objectives necessitates the need and importance of Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation. The total working days of the year are divided into two semesters. Each semester will comprise of 90 to 95 days. In each semester, the Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation will be carried out in the class. The students will be evaluated on the basis of their performance based on the work done in the class. Results of the evaluation will be given at the end of each semester.

Classes III to VIII

Semester-I written examination will be of 50 marks + 25 marks internal + 25 marks unit test. In semester-II, midterm test of 50 marks will be conducted in the month of January/ February. There will be no unit test in semester-II. Instead, 50% weightage of mid term test will be considered as semester-II unit test marks. Internal evaluation will be of 25 marks and 50 marks written examination will be conducted at the end of semester-II. [50 marks - written examination + 25 marks internal + (50% of midterm test = unit test)]. Assignments will be given to students periodically, which will be checked by the subject teacher & its marks will be included in the internal evaluation system given below. The result date will be approximately 20 working days after the written examination.

  • For Classes VI & VII mid term test of 50 marks will not be conducted for Sanskrit subject, instead 25 marks test will be scheduled.
  • Unit test dates will be given to the students in the class.
  • The Computer (IV to VIII) and Drawing & P.E. (V to VIII) written exams will be taken annually.
  • No re-examination for pupils who are absent during examinations or tests.
  • Required submissions of projects must be made on time. Late submissions will not be signed & marked.

RULES FOR EXEMPTION – CLASSES III TO VIII

Exemption from the tests will be granted on the following ground:

  • In case of sickness, a medical certificate along with an application should be produced by the parents to the Principal before the test.
  • An application sent after the test shall not be considered.
  • The average marks of the given test will be calculated for the student getting exemption in any of the tests.

CLASSES I TO VIII

For all the classes, good attendance is compulsory for promotion to the next class.

CLASSES IX & XI (Sci. & Com.)

I Term and II Term written exams will be of 50 marks. III Term/Annual written exam will be of 80 marks and 20 marks internal assessment.

Question Paper will be prepared as per the rules prescribed by the government :

  • First Term - lessons taught in the first term.
  • Second Term - 30% from First term, 70% from Second Term.
  • Third Term - Balanced question paper will be prepared from the whole syllabus, given by the board. Practical Exams for Physics, Chemistry, Biology(XI-Sci.) , Computer & P.E. ( IX & XI Com. & Sci.) will be taken by the school.

CLASS X

First Term and Second Term written exams will be of 80 marks. Final Exam of 80 marks will be taken by Board. The Board result will include 80% weightage of Board Exam and 20% weightage of school's internal assessment.

20 marks internal assessment for Classes IX, X & XI will include 5 marks based on marks obtained in First Term Exam + 5 marks based on marks obtained in Second Term Exam + 5 marks notebook submission + 5 marks based on subject enrichment activity - listening and speaking test, project, experiment etc. or Ekam Kasauti Scheduled by GSHSEB.

Class : XII (Com. & Sci.)

First Term and Preliminary written exams will be of 100 marks. Final Exam will be taken by Board. XII Sci. Practical Exams for Physics, Chemistry, Biology will be taken by Board & Computer will be taken by the school and marks will be sent to Board.

CLASSES IX to XII

Promotion rules and the above stated evaluation system is subject to change as per the changes prescribed by the GSHSEB.
